Admission requirements
Anyone wishing to pursue training at ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques must meet the requirements set out in the Regulation respecting the college studies system of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES).
According to this regulation, a person eligible for training leading to an Attestation of College Studies (AEC) is eligible if they :
• hold a Secondary School Diploma (DES) OR a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) OR training deemed sufficient by the College; and
• meet ONE of the following conditions: • Have interrupted their studies for at least two consecutive semesters or one academic year;
• Be covered by an agreement between the College and an employer or by a government program;
• Have completed at least one year of post-secondary studies spread over a period of one year or more.
The 3D Animation and Visual Effects program at ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques has been adapted pedagogically to comply with the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education.
* A student who is taking a course in English, without a certificate of eligibility to teach in English, must have a sufficient level of knowledge of French to obtain an attestation of college studies (AEC) under the application of article 88.0.18 of the Charter of the French Language.

Admission to the AEC program
Admission to the “3D Animation & Visual Effects” AEC program follows an interview during which the student explains her/his academic and artistic background as well as her/his motivation.
To enrol in the “3D Animation Cinema & Visual Effects” AEC program, the candidate must meet the requirements of the College Education Regulations of the Minister of Higher Education.
According to these regulations, the person who is eligible for a training sanctioned by an Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC):
- Holds a Secondary School Diploma (DES) OR a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) OR training deemed sufficient by the school;
- And meets 1 of the following conditions:
- Has interrupted studies for at least 2 consecutive sessions or 1 school year;
- Is the object of an agreement between the school and an employer, or a government program;
- Has completed at least 1 year of post-secondary education over a period of 1 year or more.
International students

ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques accepts applications for admission throughout the year. You can begin our program in September of each year.
